All tournaments on Total Trivia have a scheduled end time. However, to keep things fair and fun Total Trivia has a feature called Overtime.
There are two important rules at play here:
- When a player takes the lead in a tournament, they get to finish the current round they are playing. But when you are in the lead, you can't start a new round. The tournament leader can only start a new round once someone else takes the lead from them.
- Once a tournament is within three minutes of its end time, it moves into Overtime mode. When a tournament is in Overtime mode, every time someone moves into first place, two minutes are added to the tournament clock. This is intended to allow all players a fair opportunity to re-take the lead once someone passes their score.
So there you have it! The secret of Overtime - and now you understand Total Trivia that much better 💪
